New Source United website launched8 November 2004 UNITED KINGDOM: Business-focussed web developers are few and far-between and the most business-focussed of all do not even call themselves web developers. Source United, an ebusiness and online solutions provider, today launched its new website explaining in detail how more customers, revenue and profit can result from using online technologies given a strong business awareness, the right skills, and a long-term plan. Online business services that claim to generate real results are few and far between with few technical companies providing a business focus and many business consultants lacking technical awareness, especially when in the space below the national corporate level. In its new website, Source United promises a "battery" of marketing services to drive relevant and interested traffic to the customer's website, while claiming that there is "no silver bullet" for increasing search engine rankings. It is widely claimed that search engines are becoming more discriminating and are aware to many of the commonly used methods such as including relevant keywords in metatags. While this may be true, metatags surely continue to be important and the methods of the last few years must still have their place. The question is also begged: Why are there so many companies offering "SEO services" if "traditional" SEO is dead as Source United claims. Could they all be wrong and Source United correct? Possible, but perhaps unlikely. Whether Source United can deliver on its promises remains to be seen. With a growing portfolio Source United seems to be winning customers and delivering on its contracts, but it has a hard task ahead as the web development space is becoming fiercely competitive. There are more and more automated services and more and more new university graduates offering their web expertise on the cheap. Not to mention the threat from offshore web development companies in countries like India and Argentina. When asked about these threats, Kundan Misra, a Business Development Manager at Source United, said, "We are not finding that these threats are limiting the growth of our business. In fact, they are assisting us as many business people do not want to know technical jargon, they want someone to present their business options to them in plain everyday language. Regarding the offshore phenomenon - if you're a UK business, how do you find and communicate with an Indian services provider and feel confident that you can trust them? It's not an issue for us. People need to deal face-to-face. When you're entrusting your ebusiness to someone, and when your ebusiness could very well soon become at least as important as your existing business, you're not going to send a few emails to Mumbai and rest easy that the job will be done right." The new website has certainly not been launched a day too soon, as Source United will need all the advantage it can get in the fast-growing ebusiness market space.
