The Source United eBusiness Lifecycle is a professionally designed and thoroughly tested process for planning and launching web-based businesses and end-to-end e-commerce business systems. The first stage is the eBusiness Analysis which is our first formal opportunity to understand your business and your e-business needs.

The 9 steps of the eBusiness Lifecycle are explained below.

  1. eBusiness Analysis A Source United consultant visits your business to seek detailed information about your business and profit model. The e-business analysis also gains as much clarity as you have on what you want to gain through your website and related e-business initiatives.
  2. Proposal and Quotation A proposal which includes a quotation is prepared, based on the results of the eBusiness Analysis. Source United proposals are modular so that options are itemized and you can select whic items you would like and which you do not wish to order. Prices are allocated to each option so that you can see at a glance what is the charge for any combination of features. You can certainly make modifications to the proposal if you wish.
  3. Functional Design When an agreement is reached, work begins on the functional design of the website. This means that your consultant, possibly with assistance from our technical experts, will lay out the functionality of the website - which means everything that the site is able to do. The functional specification is handed to our developers.
  4. Marketing Plan The marketing plan and schedule for the e-business is written based on which options you selected in the proposal presented to you. This involves market research by our internet marketing and publicity experts, and possibly the forming of partnerships with complementary organisations in your industry with an internet presence.
  5. Develop Site The website is developed using the functional specification. The design and appearance of the site is also undertaken to fit with the functionality of the site and to be consistent with the colours, image and logo of your business. We will keep you updated on the progress of development work.
  6. Test Site The site is tested to ensure it is bug-free.
  7. Launch Site The website is launched so that it is live on the internet ready for customers.
  8. Internet Marketing At the same time as the site is launched, execution of the marketing plan begins so that customers are drawn to the website and the website is working for you from its first day.
  9. Measure Results Source United collects a range of metrics on your website and collates these in a monthly report together with analysis of your site traffic, potential customers and actual customers. This report allows us to assess how effective your site is in design and functionality, and the effectiveness of your internet marketing. Using these results we can tweak the website and the marketing plan for ongoing improvement in the business benefit derived from your website.

Comprehensive Process

The eBusiness Lifecycle is one of the most comprehensive in use by any company for developing e-commerce solutions. Technology is only part of the solution: the marketing of your site and deriving business benefit - meaning customers, revenue and profits - is our primary focus. If you are spending even $1 on a website, then you want to know where the $10 of return is going to come from. And you need to be sure that you are indeed receiving that $10 when it comes.

Source United regards eBusiness as business - a website is a means to an end, and we go to great lengths to ensure that the data is being measured to ensure that you know what business benefit you are deriving and to ensure that strengths in your website and website marketing are progressively made stronger and weaknesses are progressively reduced.

Clarify Your Needs The first step of the lifecycle is the eBusiness Analysis which gives us a comprehensive overview of your business. Understanding your business as it is today is just as important as understanding what you want from a website. A website is part of an e-business solution which must complement your existing business.

Source United develops logos, brochures, interactive CD-ROM corporate presentations and interactive prospectuses. If you need these to complement your online and offline sales and marketing activities the eBusiness Analysis is the time and place to discuss these.

Learn About Your Options Based on our eBusiness Analysis we will present you with an eBusiness Proposal together with a quotation. The proposal is rich with options, ideas and analysis of your business and how ebusiness technologies can streamline your business, save you money and win you customers. Included in the proposal is a draft internet marketing plan, which will explain how we will drive customers to your website to give you revenue.

Source United proposals are like business plans written by an owner - we justify your expenditure with a business case. Even if you spend $1 on any technological option, we understand that you want to know how that dollar will return you with $10. If we cannot see how you will get that return, then we recommend you pass on that option and consider the next.
